IPC J-STD-001 Specialist (CIS)

Where | When:

Description:

This "IPC J-STD-001, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies" training class is designed for operators that work with electronic & electrical products and who are required to be certified to IPC J-STD-001. For example, anyone with assembly tasks, duties, and functions, who is responsible for ensuring the quality & reliability of electronic & electrical assemblies, should become certified to IPC J-STD-001, including assemblers, operators, electricians, technicians, engineers, manufacturing supervisors, etc.

The class will present knowledge of the IPC J-STD-001 general requirements and test methods as it pertains to Wire & Terminal Assembly and Soldering, Through-Hole Technology requirements, and Surface Mount Technology.  It covers the materials, methods and verification criteria for producing high quality soldered interconnections.

This certification class is a 5-day training session and it is a combination of both theory lecture and hands-on exercise, covering the subjects that are presented in the IPC J-STD-001 document.  It is a comprehensive, hands-on solder training program that provides companies the necessary tools to increase employee skills and performance.

This training and certification has immediate recognition, legitimacy and value throughout the electronics industry. Our instructors are highly qualified, certified, and registered IPC instructors. As a comprehensive and technically accurate program, the IPC J-STD-001 Training & Certification program provides our instructors with high quality materials and detailed instructional plans for successfully training operators.

The theories will be learned and reiterated immediately by the related hands-on practices. We highly believe that the hands-on exercises are valuable as they reinforce the theoretical concepts learned and provide the students with an opportunity to effectively test what they have studied.

Students who successfully complete this class will be awarded an IPC J-STD-001 Operator Proficiency Certification, which is valid for two (2) years.  Our IPC J-STD-001 “Operator Proficiency” Re-Certification class is a 2-day extensive review of the IPC J-STD-001 Specification and is designed for students who require to renew their  certification prior to expiration.  The students will participate in a discussion and an overview of the IPC J-STD-001 document.  When there are revisions and/or amendments to this standard, students will discuss the applicable changes.  Please feel free to review our IPC J-STD-001 “Operator Proficiency” Re-Certification class web page, for further details.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This class involves the ability to interpret and understand technical information. Therefore, past knowledge with technical specifications is recommended.  The ability to solder through-hole and surface mount components are also recommended for this IPC J-STD-001 training class. If you have not had any previous hands-on soldering experience and are unfamiliar with the handling of electronic assemblies and/or with component installation location & orientation, we highly recommend that you initially enroll in our "Solder Hands-On" and/or "IPC-A-610 Certification" training class to acquire the basics & best practices of soldering, prior to enrolling in this IPC J-STD-001 training class.
