iTAC.MES.Suite, Manufacturing Execution System

The iTAC.MES.Suite 7 manufacturing execution system supports Android smartphone technology as of this summer. With this development, iTAC delivers its customers the benefits of its MES platform on smartphones and tablets. The MES software's new feature means that all API service adapter functions in iTAC.MES.Suite 7 will be available for Android applications.

Google Android's market share has increased from 26 to 33 percent in the last three months and it's continuing to expand. iTAC supports this growth in demand by upgrading its manufacturing execution system. The iTAC.MES.Suite 7's API service adapter's support of the Android platform gives enterprises the opportunity to implement mobile production process control. Mobile traceability applications across the entire supply chain are just one possible scenario.

Flexibility for large-scale manufacturing enterprises and SMEs

As a result of its advanced technological features, the iTAC.MES.Suite 7 is ready for new market developments and requirements. For example, iTAC enabled its manufacturing execution system SaaS for the cloud several months ago so that small enterprises without a local MES infrastructure could use MES functions. Dieter Meuser, Chief Technology Officer of iTAC Software AG explained, "We're committed to the deployment of our iTAC.MES.Suite 7 in companies of all sizes. Supporting Android as a leading development platform for mobile smartphone applications is convenience further enhancement where mobility means that users can respond quickly and flexibly."

Based on customer input to date, Android capability has already been delivered - the iTAC.MES.Suite 7 function portfolio has already been supplemented by an Android app for mobile machine condition inspections. Further apps are currently under development.
