Polyonics to Debut New Technologies at SMTA Atlanta

Apr 15, 2009

WESTMORELAND, N.H. April 2009 The leader in harsh environmental labels and product marking for industrial identification, Polyonics Inc. announces that it will debut several new technologies at the upcoming 13th Annual Atlanta Expo, scheduled to take place Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Gwinnett Civic Center in Duluth, GA.

Polyonics will debut the XF-300, a thermal transfer printable flame retardant nylon fabric PS label material for wire and cable markings. Polyonics' Thermogard product line represents the standard high temperature label materials offered for applications that are used in electronics, electrical, automotive and aerospace. Each product is RoHS/WEEE compliant, thermal transfer printable and exhibits the highest PCS and first read rates. They each exhibit excellent chemical and abrasion resistance and withstand process temperatures up to 1,000F (538C).

The company also will exhibit a 1 mil black polyimide label material that requires a white (or other colored) ribbon for contrast and scanning. This material is the newest addition to the colored polyimide product line. Polyonics colored polyimide label materials are designed for barcode or alphanumeric identification of PCBs or related electronic components. They are the ideal labels to withstand mixed circuit board processes, on either the top or bottom side of the board. Additionally, the label materials have excellent resistance to harsh fluxes, cleaning agents, saponifiers and wave solder environments, and resist all commonly used methods of cleaning. Polyonics offers color polyimide labels that are coated with a permanent pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive and a high opacity, medium gloss topcoat available in six tinted colors.

ProductSentry, a new generation of barcode labels with covert-enhanced Thermoguard technologies, not only enables real-time information for WIP tracking, but also provides layered technologies for product authentication without changing manufacturing operations.

These covert-designed ProductSentry configurations not only continue to give the benefits of barcode technology for WIP and inventory control in day-to-day operations, but also help protect products from counterfeiting, warranty fraud, and product diversion downstream. This means that product authentication features are easily integrated into existing WIP barcode data collection systems on-line and in real-time, during the products' manufacture, and becoming an integral part of your Brand Protection, Track and Trace system.
