Dan Baldwin, Ph.D. to Deliver Keynote at Atlanta SMTA Expo

Industry expert to address 13th annual event April 16th

Atlanta, GA - The Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) announced today that Dan Baldwin, Ph.D., founder of Engent, Inc. and current president of the SMTA, will present the morning keynote, �New and Emerging Technologies in Electronics,� from 9:30 � 10:30 am. Baldwin, a renowned industry expert, has seven U.S. patents, more than 200 scholarly publications and is an adjunct associate professor of mechanical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His presentation will give a perspective on what's next in advanced electronics, a snapshot of emerging technologies impacting the industry, a look at emerging material technologies, plus an overview of advances in automotive, biomedical electronics, and smart electronics based on MEMS and microsensor technology.

�This is a keynote not to be missed,� according to Atlanta Chapter president C.W. Kelley. �Dan Baldwin's depth of experience and insight into the market's emerging technologies give him a unique perspective on the industry. In these challenging times, staying informed on the latest trends and developments is essential.�

A must-attend event, The Atlanta SMTA Expo returns to the Gwinnett Civic Center in Duluth, GA, for its 13th annual event on Thursday, April 16, 2009, from 9:30 am � 3 pm. This free, one-day event will feature suppliers to the electronics industry displaying products and services for the high-technology and surface-mount markets, as well free technical presentations, networking opportunities, a complimentary lunch sponsored by World Micro Components (www.worldmicro.com), and a charity raffle to benefit the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children (www.braintumorkids.org), a non-profit organization providing information, networking and financial assistance for brain-tumor patients, families and survivors.
