SMTA ANNOUNCES PROGRAM AND KEYNOTE FOR AIMS HARSH ENVIRONMENT ELECTRONICS WORKSHOP

May 18, 2008

MINNEAPOLIS, MN The SMTA is pleased to announce Edward Zoiss as the keynote speaker for the AIMS Harsh Environment Electronics Workshop. The workshop will be co-located with SMTA International at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida on August 18-19, 2008.

Edward J. (Ed) Zoiss is director of Research and Development for Harris Government Communications Systems and the Defense Communications and Electronics organizations. He is responsible for development and maintenance of the divisions technology strategy and provides oversight of technology-related, customer-funded studies. Before joining Harris, Mr. Zoiss was a project engineer for SAIC and prior to that was a mechanical engineer with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The AIMS Harsh Environment Electronics Workshop will address the concerns related to harsh environment electronics and the challenges within the electronics community, with an added emphasis on military and space. It is intended to bring together the needs of "end-users" with the capabilities of the research community and the industrial supply base.
