Valor Announces vShare

Sep 27, 2006

26th September 2006 Valor Computerized Systems Ltd. [FWB: VCR], the leader in productivity-enhancing software solutions for the electronics industry, has announced vShare a new product lifecycle management toolset that supports DFM collaboration between PCB design and engineering teams across global supply chains. vShare delivers enhanced communications capabilities into the electronics design and manufacturing process, resulting in faster product innovation and design-to-manufacturing cycles for Valor users.

OEMs and EMS companies already unlock the power of Valors DFM tools as part of their NPI processes in order to shorten design cycles, eliminate costly revision spins, speed up time to market, and increase manufacturing profit. The role of efficient communication is vital in order to take this process one step further and achieve a successful, optimized DFM process flow that cuts across organizational boundaries.

vShare provides a centralized, scalable platform with secure access to important design information and DFM issues that form part of the product development process. The complete workflow, including design changes, design reviews and final manufacturing sign-off, is intuitively managed in vShare, enabling companies to achieve the most manufacturable designs possible.

Commenting on the new product introduction, Julian Coates, executive VP corporate marketing and product development at Valor, said, Even good accurate DFM results can get caught up in the tangled web of fragmented data and unstructured communication channels, thus hampering efficiency, accuracy and speed. Our new vShare dashboard captures all relevant DFM data in a centralized environment so that all team members can work in real-time with the same, graphically-rich data set. Communications and workflow are streamlined for speed, efficiency and accuracy.

Using standard internet browsers within a secure, web-based environment, vShare users can easily import DFM results from Valors DFM tools, as well as attach third-party graphical or text objects. The project leader can then filter, group and prioritize issues ready for collaboration. During this phase, members can share ideas or comment on improvements and/or corrections for each issue, or group of issues, up and down the supply chain. Reports can be quickly generated to document critical steps, project status and details, or final approvals, and template-driven instant reports can be used to track progress. The project manager can assign projects, actions or issues to particular individuals, and monitor events until complete sign-off and approval is reached.

vShare is a scalable platform providing immense added-value to the DFM environment. As we move towards our next generation Dynamic Assembly solutions, planned for launch next year, it forms a key part in our vision that reaches beyond the boundaries of current industry DFM and PCB manufacturing offerings, Julian Coates added.

Pricing and Availability

vShare is shipping to customers in Q4 2006 and pricing starts at $25,000 for a complete company-wide solution fully capable of supply chain networking.
