Smart Sonic Splits: 2 for 1

Canoga Park, CA � Smart Sonic Corporation has announced the name of a new company that will be responsible for the manufacture and sales of the 440-R SMT Detergent, the only stencil cleaning chemistry that has been verified by the U.S. EPA�s Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program for specific parameters of environmental safety, user safety and cleaning efficiency. The new company is SMT Detergent Corp. of Westlake Village, California.

When asked what prompted the move, Bill Schreiber, President and CEO of Smart Sonic commented, �Smart Sonic is committed to providing optimum service to our customers while keeping the cost of our products as low as possible.

We are pleased that the demand for our products has grown rapidly since we introduced the Smart Sonic Stencil Cleaning Process in 1990. However, the requirements and business structure necessary to manufacture quality cleaning equipment are very different than that of providing consumable cleaning chemistry such as 440-R SMT Detergent. So, effective July 1, 2005, SMT Detergent Corp. will have the exclusive responsibility for the manufacture, sale and distribution of consumable cleaning chemistries to better serve the specific needs of our 440-R SMT Detergent customers. This will allow Smart Sonic to concentrate on the manufacture and development of its award winning stencil and pallet cleaning systems.�
