MPEG-4 Encoder

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- March 21, 2005 -- Parvus Corporation today announced that its MPEG104+ video compressor is now shipping. This high performance PC/104-Plus MPEG-4 video/audio encoder card supports up to four (4) simultaneous inputs and features an onboard microcontroller dedicated to handling the computationally intensive video compression.

With dedicated hardware and rate control algorithms tailored to high-resolution live video encoding, the new MPEG104+ module supports up to four (4) live camera inputs at a time and enables a lower-end system processor or up to four (4) MPEG104+ modules to be used in a single system (supporting up to 16 cameras).

Compatible with real-time and embedded operating systems, such as Windows CE / XPe, QNX, Linux and VxWorks, the board is well suited for embedded computing applications with space constraints and harsh environmental conditions, including high vibration and temperature extremes (i.e. aircraft, buses, trains, vehicles, etc.).

The MPEG104+ features 4-channel NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoders with composite video (CVBS) inputs, along with digital (ITU-R BT .656) output and analog output channels to perform real-time monitoring of the recording sequence. The MPEG-4 module also features 4-channel motion detection functionality, fully programmable or automatic static gain control for each CVBS channel, and programmable video quality control.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The MPEG104+ is currently in stock and is priced at $603/each in volume orders of 100+ units.
