Producing compact, convenient and professional-looking electronic assemblies is straightforward with Phoenix Contact's new ME range of modular electronics housings for printed circuit boards. Designed for fast and easy DIN-rail mounting, the housings are fully compatible with the company's versatile plug-in terminal connectors, thus providing a complete single-source solution for a wide variety of electronic packaging requirements.

To ensure fast and easy assembly, all components used in the housings simply snap positively together, without the use of tools. As an aid to testing and set-up, the printed circuit boards can be partially withdrawn from the housings, where they lock in place, allowing access to board-mounted DIP switches, potentiometers and similar adjustable components.

Phoenix Contact offers ME modular housings in widths from 12.5mm to 45mm. Even the smallest enclosure provides eight external connection points, while the largest allows for up to 32 connections. Where more space or more connections are needed, the housings can be combined side-by-side, with the intermediate side panels omitted, to form, in effect, a single housing of almost unlimited size.

All housings in the ME range incorporate a metal DIN-rail mounting foot, which not only ensures secure, reliable mounting, but also provides automatic earthing to assist with meeting EMC requirements. The housings may also be equipped with bus connectors, to allow wire-free interconnection from housing to housing.

Phoenix Contact's ME modular housings for electronics are offered with a wide variety of labelling and marking options, and are also available in customised versions which can, for example, feature special moulding colours and pre-printed terminal identification.

Phoenix Contact is one of the world's leading developers and manufacturers of interconnect and automation components. Its principal product ranges include printed circuit board connectors, modular terminal blocks, fieldbus components, surge voltage protection systems, industrial plug and socket connectors, and interface units. In all of these areas, Phoenix Contact combines proven expertise with innovative, value-for-money products.
