CircuiTree Organizes North American Town Meeting at IPC Expo

Mar 21, 2003

CircuiTree has organized a North American Town Meeting at IPC Printed Circuits Expo. The meeting, which will explore strategies that could revitalize industry growth in North America, will be held on Tuesday, March 25, from 1:30-5:00 in Room CC-102C at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Audience participation in this forum is vital, especially when addressing the reduction in demand for North American capacity and measures that might ensure that the North American industry remains vital. Industry leaders will discuss the current state of the industry, technology innovation, R&D funding issues, OEM requirements, small business concerns, and global business strategies.

The roster of town meeting participants is sure to spark some ideas for improving the future of the North American industry. Session participants include John Shurboff (Motorola), Nilesh Naik (Eagle Circuits), Joe Fjelstad (Silicon Pipe), Greg Lucas (Topsearch), Ed Henderson (Henderson Ventures), and Karen Carpenter (Endicott Interconnect Technologies). Each panel member will address their own perspective: OEM demands, small business concerns, technological and investment issues, engineering talent exiting North America, statistical trends and techniques for surviving despite globalization pressures.

The most interesting part of the forum occurs after the panelist presentations are complete. There will be an open discussion among the panelists, moderated by IPC Vice President of Technology David Bergman, that will discuss various issues raised during the presentations. Forum attendees will also be invited to offer their opinions and perspectives.
