Computrol, Inc., a world-class provider of mid- to low-volume, high-mix electronic manufacturing services to OEMs, today announced that it has purchased a XD7600NT Ruby X-ray from Nordson DAGE. The system has been installed at Computrol’s Meridian, ID facility.

“We have already benefited from the installation of the Nordson DAGE XD7600NT Ruby for our most demanding applications,” said James Spencer, Engineering Manager for Computrol. “We are able to see things that were not possible before. The Nordson DAGE Ruby is another tool that we can use to meet the high standards that our customers expect.”

The Nordson DAGE XD7600NT Ruby X-ray inspection system is the benchmark system for the most demanding production applications. The unique Nordson DAGE NT maintenance-free, sealed-transmissive X-ray tube, providing 0.5 µm feature recognition and up to 10 W of power, together with the 2 Mpixel XiDAT3 digital image intensifier covers all the failure analysis and manufacturing tasks required in the production environment.

Computrol also purchased the revolutionary X-Plane® option, which uses a proprietary, patent applied for tomosynthesis, or CT technique, to create 2D X-ray slices in any plane of a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) without the need to cut the board.

Headquartered in Aylesbury, UK, Nordson DAGE is a unit of the Nordson Corporation and manufactures and supports a complete range of award winning digital X-ray inspection systems and bond test equipment for the printed circuit board assembly and semiconductor industries.
