Computrol Increases Inspection Capabilities with Two MIRTEC AOI Systems

Aug 03, 2014

Computrol, Inc., a world-class provider of mid- to low-volume, high-mix electronic manufacturing services to OEMs, today announced that it has purchased two MV-7 OMNI 2D/3D In-Line AOI Machines from MIRTEC. The systems have been installed at Computrol’s Orem, Utah facility.

With the purchase of the two new MIRTEC MV-7 OMNI 2D/3D AOIs we are able to process more boards per hour,” said James Spencer, Engineering Manager for Computrol. “With the addition of the 3D inspection we are able to find more defects in line so that we can fix process issues in real time. We feel that the partnership with MIRTEC will be very successful as we move forward.”

“Manufacturers have become ever more selective in purchasing new AOI technology that will add value to their business and provide them with a much needed competitive edge,” said Brian D’Amico, President of MIRTEC’s North American Sales and Service Division. “We at MIRTEC are extremely focused upon providing the industry’s most technologically advanced inspection solutions to our valued customers.  We are very pleased to welcome Computrol, Inc. to our growing family of satisfied MIRTEC customers. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship between our two organizations.”

The MV-7 OMNI 2D/3D In-Line AOI Machine is configured with MIRTEC’s OMNI-VISION® 2D/3D Inspection Technology that combines an exclusive 15MP 2D ISIS Vision System with MIRTEC’s revolutionary Digital Multi-Frequency Quad Moiré 3D system to provide precision inspection of SMT devices on finished PCB assemblies. The MV-7 OMNI machine also features four (4) 10 Mega Pixel Side-View Cameras in addition to the 15 Mega Pixel Top-Down Camera. For more information, visit www.mirtec.com.
