NEW SMART CAMERA FROM VISION COMPONENTS FEATURES

May 10, 2001

Vision Components, a leader in machine vision technology, introduces the VC 2065 industrial smart camera. The VC 2065 features a 32-bit Texas Instruments C6 DSP processor making it one of the fastest vision systems on the market with the capability to process up to 54 parts/sec with full resolution and up to 216 parts/sec when processing four parts in the same frame. Perfectly suited as an OEM system for mechanical engineering applications, the camera can be used for a wide variety of gauging, inspection, orientation, and recognition tasks. The VC 2065 is also ideal for profile analysis, automating alignment operations, and component completion. Because the cameras are built for industrial environments, they are insensitive to vibrations and shocks while maintaining precise measurement and testing abilities.

The VC 2065 features double-speed progressive scan image capture, a multi-media flash card, and a real-time clock. Needing only a supply voltage (24 volts) to function, the system does not require an image processing system or a PC with a frame grabber board. Simple control tasks are effortlessly implemented with the integrated process interfaces. If more complex control tasks are necessary, the camera can be connected to a PLC.

Vision Components offers the VC 2065 industrial smart camera for $3477. Prices are adjusted accordingly when purchased in volume. A color version of the VC 2065 will be available shortly. To compliment the VC 2065, Vision Components also offers several libraries and aids including a real-time operating system, an in-circuit emulator, a standard image processing library, JPEG compression, and a measurement library.
