LPKF Laser & Electronics will present a live webinar on September 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. PDT. How Stencil Manufacturing Methods Impact Precision and Accuracy will be hosted by Shane Stafford, LPKF market development representative, and presented by Ahne Oosterhof, stencil manufacturing industry expert and founder of A-Laser. The webinar is based on Oosterhof’s white paper, “Solder Paste Stencil Manufacturing Methods and Their Impact on Precision and Accuracy.” To register now for the event, visit https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/959547094.

Designed for SMT stencil buyers and manufacturers, quality assurance and production managers, and supply chain specialists, the webinar examines stencil positional accuracy as a function of the manufacturing process and the five parameters that affect precision and accuracy. The webinar breaks down the most prevalent manufacturing technologies of today as well as how tension and temperature variables affect the stencil production process. Cp analysis of 13 different laser-cut stencils and one electroformed stencil serve as basis for the findings.

Oosterhof currently consults for A-Laser, Fine Line Stencil and LPKF Laser & Electronics North America. Oosterhof founded A-Laser after a long career in design engineering, including many years as engineering manager at Philips and Tektronix. A-Laser uses laser systems to make stencils for the surface mount assembly process and to cut parts from thin metals and plastics for a variety of industries. Oosterhof holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the HTS in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands.
