SMTA International Conference Program Finalized and Registration Now Open

Jun 29, 2012

The SMTA is pleased to announce that the program for SMTA International is finalized and available on-line at www.smta.org/smtai and registration is open.  The conference will be held at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Florida on October 14-18, 2012. This year's program allows the attendee to choose from 17 courses, 130 technical papers, 4 focused symposia, and numerous free offerings throughout the conference.

Over 130 leading edge suppliers make up the "sold out" SMTAI Electronics Exhibition, which will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, October 16-17.  Attendees are invited to consult with high-level technical experts to solve specific current problems at no cost during Doctor’s Hours.  Free lunch will also be provided both days on the show floor.

New this year, SMTAI will feature a Package on Package (PoP) Design and Assembly Center right on the show floor.  Attendees will be able to see a complete assembly line for PoP technology, ask questions, and attend short seminars related to PoP.

SMTA International offers educational opportunities covering Manufacturing and Assembly, Advanced Packaging, Substrates, Soldering, and Quality and Reliability.  Technical sessions will be held on Monday through Thursday.  Tutorials are half-day educational courses offered on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. The conference includes 6 new tutorials this year.  Thursday’s tutorial on "Advanced Component Packages and Processes" is free for SMTA members who register in advance.  New this year, a VIP Conference registration includes four short courses.

Informative and focused symposia include the Evolving Technologies Summit, AIMS Harsh Environments Symposium, Contract Manufacturing Symposium, and Lead-Free Soldering Technology Symposium.

Many additional events at SMTA International are free to all attendees including:
-Improving Printing Function
-Stencil Innovation
-SMT Placement
-Materials and Soldering Processes
-Throughput, Lifespan and Partnering
-Alternative Energy Panel Discussion
-RoHS: Six Years Later Panel
-Innovative Packaging Solution
-A Trained Technical Workforce is Critical

A new deal is being offered for first time attendees that allows an extra 10% off conference registration. The Early Bird registration deadline is September 14, 2012.
