A-Laser, a division of FCT Assembly and a premier laser cutting service specializing in the ablation of ultra-thin metals and plastics, announces that it has purchased a MicroLine 1120 P from LPKF. The new UV laser cutting system offers the highest cutting quality along with superior process and capabilities, enabling A-Laser to significantly increase its capacity.

Nothing is more important to us than being able to produce high-quality parts. This new piece of equipment allows us to maintain that standard while achieving the rapid turn time expected from our customer base,” commented Josh Saunders, President of A-Laser.

Designed for processing bare rigid and flexible PCBs, the MicroLine 1120 P is especially suited to high-mix, flexible manufacturing environments and can produce a new design within moments of changing the data. The compact UV laser system provides users with increased freedom in process planning from prototyping to mass production and greatly reduces operational costs incurred from outsourcing.

The MicroLine 1120 P cuts, drills, engraves and ablates a variety of materials with the tightest tolerances and has the ability to cleanly cut even the most complicated patterns with minimal stress to the substrate. This allows for more circuits on a single panel while an integrated vacuum table eliminates the limitations of tooling. For more information about LPKF’s MicroLine 1120 P, visit www.lpkfusa.com.

A-Laser provides tight tolerance laser cutting solutions for a range of industries, fulfilling both prototype and production needs. UV Laser cutting provides unmatched benefits, including virtually carbon-free laser cuts, 20 µm laser drilling and 2 mil slot laser routing. This service is suitable for many thin metal foils, thermoplastic and thermoset materials, and material/adhesive combos. For more information about A-Laser, visit www.a-laser.com.
