In addition to the repeat participation of leading vendors like Assembléon, Yamaha, Sony, Mydata, Samsung, Panasonic, Fuji, Saki and Senju, many exhibitors, including DASA ROBOT, Adlink, Yongyu, KOKI, OptiRom and Tianjin Ace Pillar are taking part in NEPCON South China for the first time.
At this year’s event, visitors will have the chance to see a different side of the economic crisis – the upside. Many new innovations and technologies have been inspired by the rocketing demand for greater efficiency at lower cost. These technologies will be among the main attractions at the event. The three-day event will feature hundreds of new displays and several conferences where experts will present their analyses of the key challenges faced by the industry. The SMTA Technical Conference, which began yesterday, looks set to be a resounding success. Leading figures in the industry have already been discussing prevailing trends and suggesting ways the SMT and electronics manufacturing industries can keep the economic crisis at bay. Over the course of the four-day conference, speakers from Indium Corporation of America, Huawei and other renowned companies are scheduled speak about key emerging technologies in every sector. Topics covered will include “Next Level Requirements for Ultra Fine Pitch Printing” and “Addressing the Challenge of Head-in-Pillow Defects in Electronics Assembly”. These are bound to receive good reviews from conference delegates.
Following an overwhelming response to its previous edition of the competition, NEPCON has launched the Selection of Electronics Manufacturing & SMT Industry Engineers in China, 2009-2010. A call for competitors from all areas went out to boost the development of the local electronics manufacturing and SMT industries, and let more people know of the outstanding talents being nurtured there. The recruitment drive began today at the “NEPCON Fans Club” booth – which saw a lot of applicant traffic. This competition is a chance to create a platform and community through which engineers can communicate.
Away from the contest, the party thrown by members of the SMT Special Committee Of Guangdong Institute of Electronics was in full swing. One SMT engineer could not conceal his delight at being among such a large congregation of the SMT elite for the first time.
Held in conjunction with NEPCON, EMT South China, ATE China and AE South China also attracted wide attention on the opening day. August 27, a special symposium focusing on automotive electronics manufacturing will be held by NEPCON together with Electronic Engineering & Product World magazine. Speakers from Fujitsu, Murata, Tektronix, NXP, Infineon and Linear Technology will address a wide range of topics, including new energy, hybrid power control and technology, high quality auto entertainment enjoying semiconductor solutions and the on-board information acquisition systems of new intellectual traffic systems.
