CVD Equipment Corp. today said it has completed its acquisition of the assets of Conceptronic Inc.'s surface mount technology (SMT) business. Financial details were not disclosed. Conceptronic specializes in solder reflow ovens and re-work stations for the printed circuit board industry and chip scale package industry. "The purchase of Conceptronic substantially strengthens CVD's position in the electronics assembly and semiconductor packaging sector," said Len Rosenbaum, CVD's president and CEO, in a statement. This is the latest acquisition in a push by CVD to bolster its SMT portfolio. Last year, CVD acquired Research International, another manufacturer of SMT equipment. Ronkonkoma, N.Y.-based CVD also manufactures LPCVD, UHVCVD, MOCVD, LPE, VPE and RTP products and services for the semiconductor, optoelectronic, wireless telecommunications, MEMS, and solar power markets.
