Master of ID Accepts Applications

Nov 07, 2001

COLLEGE STATION - The Master of Industrial Distribution e-Distance Degree program at Texas A&M University is accepting applications for admission to its fall 2002 class.

The two-year program is delivered via the World Wide Web and includes 36-credit hours of industrial distribution and business courses. The business courses are taught by Texas A&M's Lowry Mays College and Graduate School of Business.

Program Coordinator Dr. Ben B. Zoghi said the program fills the career-long educational needs of today's best talent in distribution and manufacturing - independent of time or distance.

He said, "Our goal is to keep industry professionals at the leading edge of their specialties while offering the same educational opportunities other Texas A&M students receive - access to and participation in a world-class university community."

The coursework includes several company projects where students explore solutions to problems their companies are facing. Students also attend two weeks in residence at Texas A&M - one week during each of the program's two years.

Craig Edlin is a student in the inaugural class and district channel manager with Rockwell Automation in Indianapolis, Indiana.

"The knowledge I have gained so far has enabled me to better understand how and why we do the things we do in our industry and in the channel organization within my company," Edlin said. "I have also been very pleased with the contemporary nature of the curriculum. I am learning the foundational, as well as cutting edge, concepts and principles of industrial distribution."

Prospective students must submit an application, official college transcripts, a Graduate Record Examination score, three letters of recommendation and a professional resume. International applications must also submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language. The application deadline for next year's class is May 1, 2002.

Applications are available at http://mid.tamu.edu. Call (979) 845-4984 for more information.
