Kenneth Biholar, Network Product Architect, Alcatel (NYSE:ALA - news), has been appointed chairman of the T1X1 Committee, one of six technical sub-committees under Committee T1.
Committee T1 is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-recognized standards development organization.
The T1X1 Technical Sub-Committee develops and recommends critical standards for telecommunications network technology pertaining to U.S. telecommunications network structure and synchronization interfaces. Its activities, which influence International Telecommunications Union (ITU) standards, are vital for ensuring that U.S. next-generation optical transport networks are harmonized with networks in other parts of the world. The resulting global standards being established by the ITU will enable economies of scale and global network interoperability for telecommunications equipment vendors and service providers.
Mr. Biholar has more than 26 years of experience in the telecommunications field, including various positions at Alcatel, Stentor Resource Center Inc., and Saskatchewan Telecommunications. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He lives in Plano, Texas.
