ViTechnology Selects Glenn Wyllie to Deepen North American Market Penetration

Feb 07, 2006

Anaheim, CA February 6, 2006 - ViTechnology, a leading worldwide provider of advanced solutions to enhance the yield of electronics assembly, stepped up its presence in the North American market by naming Glenn Wyllie as Eastern Region Manager. Wyllie, a 20-year veteran of the electronics field, will be responsible for sales and service in a territory that runs from Canada in the north to Puerto Rico in the south and stretches as far west as Wisconsin, Nebraska and Kansas from East Coast. He moves into the newly created position after serving the company as a technical sales engineer since 1999.

"Glenn Wyllie is a great fit for this position," said Gary Burroughs, President, ViTechnology Americas. "He has extensive experience in both manufacturing processes and automated optical Inspection (AOI), and he was exceptional with customers as an applications engineer. He understands their wants and needs and knows where AOI can fit a customer's process. He can be an excellent teacher to show customers how they might fit the technology into their processes."

Wyllie began his career with a defense contractor after earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston. In 1995, he joined Camelot Systems as an Applications Engineer and earned a Master's Degree in Engineering Management from Western New England College, Springfield, MA. Since he joined ViTechnology, the company's North American office has more than doubled in size, requiring the need for additional sales management.

"Having the resources to get in front of our customers more often as technology changes so quickly is critical to their success and ours," Wyllie said. "The quality of AOI has improved dramatically in the past few years. It's a viable tool to make processes work better and save money, and we have the capability to demonstrate how it can work."

"The Vi-1k bench-top AOI, for example, has all the features of in-line technology in a smaller package and lower cost," he continued. "It does more than presence & absence analysis. It's ideally suited for low-to-medium volume levels typical of the two- and three-line shops found in the North American market."

Wyllie said the new equipment incorporates ViTechnology's enhanced Vision 2006 software, which will be introduced at APEX in February, with a new interface that is easier for new users to get maximum performance out of their equipment.
