Scanditron Opens New Training Centre for Electronics Production in India

Training Room

Scanditron, a company in KAMIC Group’s Production Technology business area – has today opened a new training centre in Chennai, India. The centre will offer process training for the regional electronics industry. Scanditron has thus taken an important step in its long-term initiative in the large and rapidly expanding Indian market for electronics manufacturing.

“We believe strongly in the Indian market and it is vital for us to have a presence here as more and more of our existing European customers move parts of their production to India. At the same time, we will also offer our services to the many local Indian and US-based electronics manufacturers that are represented here. The need for high quality process training is already urgent and will grow further in pace with the number of manufacturers and as a result of the increasingly advanced technology that is being used in the region,” says Björn Johnsson, Head of the Production Technology business area.

At the training centre, Scanditron will provide a variety of IPC* training programmes and other hands-on courses for operators, maintenance technicians and programmers. The courses are conducted with the support of the latest technology and on state-of-the-art production equipment from vendors like DEK and Vitronics Soltec. If the customer so desires, Scanditron can also carry out customised training courses on site at the customer’s facility and using the customer’s own machinery.

The courses are led by both Swedish and Indian instructors. The manager of the training centre is Per Edin, an IPC Master Trainer with 15 years of experience in electronics manufacturing.

* IPC is a global trade association for the electronic interconnection industry that continuously develops and publishes the world’s most widely used and accepted quality standards for electronics production.
