PFC Flexible Circuits expands Flex Circuit Surface Mount capacity and capabilities

Aug 23, 2010

“Many of our customers are asking for full turnkey solutions”, said Anish Somaiya, COO at PFC. “They see the value in being able to deal with one vendor that can provide design services, manufacturing and assembly. The turnkey process gives them fewer vendors, shorter lead times and overall lower costs.”

PFC has completed the installation of an additional automated assembly line consisting of a DEK semi-automatic printer with vision system, a Panasonic high speed pick and place system, a Folungwin lead-free capable 8-zone reflow oven, a Cluso optical vision inspection/verification system, and an Ascentech Ionic contamination test system. The new assembly line will support smaller package sizes such as 0201’s today and is capable of placing 1005’s in the future.

“Our strategy is to provide customers complete solutions from initial concept to delivered product. In the past 3 years we have added engineering tools to improve our design services and we have added manufacturing capabilities for rigid flex and fine line technology. Now it is time to beef up our assembly throughput.” said Steve Kelly President and founder of PFC.

About PFC. PFC designs, manufactures and assembles Flexible Printed Circuits. Capabilities include single, double and multi-layer flex as well as rigid flex. Fine-line technology, impedance Control, and SMT flex assembly are our specialties. PFC was founded in 1997 in Toronto, Canada and has been profitable since its inception.
