Europlacer Now Distributes EVEST System

May 23, 2008

DORSET, UNITED KINGDOM - May 20, 2008 - Blakell Europlacer Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of comprehensive SMT placement systems for the global electronics industry, announces a key development in its strategy to offer competitive pick-and-place products to meet every application need and to complement its already growing list of distribution products.

Europlacer solutions are focused on applications in which flexibility is a key factor, typically in high product mix environments. Customers needing to build a simple product with limited variety have an increasing number of low-cost pick-and-place choices available, making it difficult to sell a Europlacer solution.

In fact, many customers use Europlacer for its high-mix work and competitive machines for their simple dedicated production lines. The company wants to service all of these customers needs while gaining new customers who have current requirements for limited product range and minimum investment.

As a result, Europlacer has entered into an agreement to distribute the EVEST machine alongside its Europlacer range of equipment in the UK and in France. EVEST is based in Taiwan and manufactures a mid-high-speed machine with simple feeders and conventional pipette heads. This provides an excellent opportunity to offer a greater range of solutions to customers, especially at entry level, and the company believes it will strengthen its overall market position in its home territories.

The EVEST machine range will be officially released at the National Electronics Week (NEW) exhibition in Earls Court, London, June 17-19, 2008, and will be displayed alongside its other distribution products including Europlacer pick-and-place systems, Speedprint stencil printers, SAKI AOI systems, DAGE X-ray machines and HEXI reflow ovens.

About Europlacer

Europlacer has been developing machines for electronics assembly since the 1970s and invented the intelligent feeder concept in the 1980s. After acquisition by Blakell Europlacer in 1991, the company moved away from split-axis to the inherently more capable X-Y architecture that underpins the companys machines today. Europlacers policy has been to ensure wherever possible that technology purchased many years ago, especially feeders, remain compatible with the latest equipment. Europlacer designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of highly flexible SMT placement systems for the global electronics industry.
