Metcal is pleased to announce that it was awarded a 2015 SMT China Vision Award in the category of Repair & Rework for its APR-2000-SCS Scarab Site Cleaning System. The award was presented to the company during an April 21, 2015 ceremony at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center during NEPCON China.
The Scarab can accurately and repeatedly clean pads with pitches of 0.2mm to 1.5mm. The open-ended board holder fits a wide variety of large, small and odd-shaped boards while allowing positioning over the patented dual subzone preheater. When equipped with the optional APR-SCS-UK1 Underfill Removal Upgrade Kit, the Scarab adds the capability to assist in the removal of reworkable underfills from underneath surface mount components.
