Kester Celebrates 110 Years in Business

ITASCA, IL � February 2009 � Kester announces 110 years in business as a leading global supplier of higher performance interconnecting materials and related services for the electronic and micro-component assembly markets.

The company was founded in 1899 as the Chicago Solder Company to produce flux-cored solder wire. This patented Kester manufacturing process has had a major impact in the electronics industry to this day. As Kester grew and gained success, the company opened additional facilities outside of the US starting in 1931. In 2006, Illinois Tool Works (ITW) Company acquired Kester. Today, Kester operates facilities in the US, Mexico, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, China, Malaysia and Singapore.
