SMTA International Exhibition 2015 - Electronics Manufacturing
A non-profit international association of companies and individuals (totalling 4,000) involved in all aspects of advanced electronics assembly, surface mount and related technologies.
The association is dedicated to the advancement of the electronics industry through member education and interaction. Local chapters are in the U.S., Canada, Australia, India, Israel, Singapore, Taiwan, and soon China.
Educational programs, symposia, and seminars are held throughout the year in various locations in the U.S. and Canada. The SMTA produces SMTA International, a major annual conference and exhibition currently held in Orlando (Late September - Early October).
Feb 03, 2016 | The SMTA is pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for the Symposium on Counterfeit Parts and Materials June 28-30, 2016 College Park, Maryland. The deadline to submit an abstract is March 7, 2016.
Jan 26, 2016 | The SMTA is pleased to announce the Best Papers from SMTA International 2015. As speakers at SMTA International, individuals make contributions to the industry by sharing their research and findings. To reward exceptional achievement, $1,000 awards and plaques are given for the Best of Conference Presentation, Best of Proceedings Paper, and the Best International Paper.
Jan 17, 2016 | The SMTA Capital Chapter is pleased to announce its first meeting of 2016 on January 27th, scheduled from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at DfR Solutions, 9000 Virginia Manor Road, Suite 290, Beltsville, MD 20705. The focus of this chapter meeting will be “Test Plan Development – How to Do It!” presented by Dr. Gil Sharon, DfR Solutions.
Dec 16, 2015 | The SMTA is pleased to announce that Tanya Martin, SMTA Director of Operations, will assume the role of Executive Administrator on January 1, 2016. Current Executive Administrator, JoAnn Stromberg, retires on December 31, 2015 after 29 years with the Association. JoAnn has worked closely with Tanya over the past 18 months to ensure that she is informed and knowledgeable on all SMTA programs and activities for a smooth transition.
Dec 05, 2015 | During the 2015 Annual Meeting at SMTA International, the SMTA announced that Hanju Oh, a graduate student at Georgia Institute of Technology, has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 Charles Hutchins Educational Grant. The SMTA Grant Committee selected his project entitled "A Three-Dimensional Packaging Platform with Integrated Microfluidic Cooling."

Nov 25, 2015 | On behalf of the SMTA International Technical Committee, we invite you to submit a 300 word abstract of your research for the 2016 SMTA International 2016 technical conference in Rosemont, Illinois. Papers should describe significant results from experiments, emphasize new techniques, and contain technical, economic or appropriate test data. We are looking for papers on a variety of topics related to electronics manufacturing including advanced packaging/components, assembly, business/supply chain, emerging technologies, harsh environment applications, PCB technology, and process control. Materials must be original, unpublished and non-commercial in nature.
Nov 18, 2015 | SMTA announced that the program is finalized for the 21st Annual Pan Pacific Microelectronics Symposium. The event will take place January 25-28, 2016 at the Hapuna Beach Prince Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Pan Pacific promotes international technical interchange and provides a premier forum for extensive networking among industry professionals and business leaders throughout the world.
Nov 18, 2015 | The SMTA is pleased to announce its election results for the Board of Directors for the term that began at SMTA International (September 27 - October 1, 2015). Robert Kinyanjui, Ph.D., John Deere Electronic Solutions, Inc. was elected Treasurer. Eileen Hibbler, TEK Products, was elected VP Membership. Richard Coyle, Ph.D., Alcatel-Lucent, and Tim Jensen, Indium Corporation, were appointed to the Strategic Development Committee.
Oct 15, 2015 | JoAnn Stromberg, the SMTA's Executive Administrator for the past 29 years, has announced plans to retire at the end of December 2015.
