The Series C Fieldbus Interface Module (FIM4/FIM8) serves as the bridge between the Experion control environment and the Fieldbus control functions. It supports both the publish/subscribe and the client/server communication methods to communicate with Fieldbus function blocks. The Fieldbus function blocks implementing control algorithms, such as a PID function block, must be connected downstream from CEE function blocks.
