Job Description: |
Western Electronics, a high tech contract manufacturing company is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician responsible for overall maintenance and repair of production equipment. Position responsibilities include:

Troubleshoot and debug production machinery down to the component level.

Assist in writing and debugging of pick and place software.
-
Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment.
-
Maintain preventative maintenance documentation records.
-
Maintain and repair support equipment such as air compressors and water treatment plant.
-
Operate and use special hand and power tools such as: soldering equipment, drill press, grinder, saws, lathe, mill, and other related equipment.
-
Install new equipment and support facilities as needed.
-
Partner with Production and Engineering to improve overall yields and quality.
-
May be required to maintain building facilities as directed by management.

Maintain an organized, safe, and effective work environment.
Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:
-
Associate’s degree in electronics or related field plus three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong PC skills using MS Word, Excel, and applicable software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-
Able and willing to learn new tasks and conduct appropriate research.

Able to read and understand work instructions and safety guidelines in standard English text.
Physical demands/work environment:
-
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and exposure to elevated noise levels.
-
Employees in this position may be exposed to high voltages and/or currents, and excessive heat from manufacturing equipment and machinery.

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employees is required to sit; stand; crouch, bend and reach; hear and talk; read; use close vision; use hands to grasp, handle tools, feel objects, manipulate controls; and type.
