Production Manager

Electronic Source Company, Los Angeles, CA based, Electronic Manufacturing Services (CM) company, servicing the Aerospace, Space, Medical and Telecommunication, for  life critical applications/segments, is in search of a hands on, results driven and detailed oriented Production Manager with at least 7 years of previous CM experience and have the previous knowledge, tools and success in supporting 30% growth per year.

The ideal candidate will be driven by; an insatiable appetite and drive to deliver the best; world class quality( measured by DPMO), highest machine utilization and the fastest, most efficient processes, within a quick turn, high reliability, high mix, lower volume contract manufacturing  EMS environment). (measured by Revenue per Labor Hour or RpL).

The ideal candidate will come with a pre-existing DNA of; customer focused, that he/she has “never arrived” and constantly improving processes and people, passionate about accountability and coming from what gets measured, gets done.

This position will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the manufacturing operation. While reporting directly to the General Manager of the facility, the Production Manager will lead Production Supervisors and staff to ensure we are exceeding our customer expectations as it relates to on time delivery and quality standards. This position will refocus resources, drive continuous improvements and raise the bar for expectations and employee performance.

The Production Manager is expected to collaborate with department supervisors to work toward common methods, procedures, systems and goals. The position has leadership responsibilities to drive a lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement culture leading to quality improvements, cycle time reductions, safety improvements, cost and waste reductions, inventory reductions, and on-time shipping performance.

• Manages the daily manufacturing operations of the plant to ensure that the manufacturing plan is executed in a manner that meets or exceeds quality and cost objectives.
• Works to continually improve productivity to maximize asset utilization and drive down manufacturing costs.
• Attracts, coaches, mentors and promotes associates to develop a strong production team.
• Supports a team environment in which employees work safely
• Ensures that the Quality system is followed and that plant production meets product specifications
• Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures
• Determine staffing requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Desired Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of systematic and purposeful problem solving techniques to ensure root cause identification.
• Ability to lead people and get results through a team of supervisors and individual contributors.
• Ability to manage deadlines and production demands in a complex and dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to analyze production data/reports to assess impact on throughput, efficiencies and other KPIs.
• Elimination of hidden factory and rework thru continuous training, procedural development and compliance.
• Knowledge, experience and capability of delivering minimum of 5 sigma- 5.5 sigma quality, within a high mix, low volume, life critical PCB Assembly environment.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques.
• Strong knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes, equipment and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to navigate computer systems including ERP and other manufacturing programs and reports.
