SMT Supervisor

Supervises an assigned work shift of 20+ employees.

Typically has department group leaders as reports.

Responsible for quality, quantity of work output and continuous improvement of product and/or processes.

Establish, define, document and monitor the SMT/THT process and necessary controls working with production, quality assurance and others.

Provide direct advisory support of SMT/THT manufacturing processes.

Determine root cause of problems & initiate corrective action. Identify process improvements and prevention.

Activities will cover the full horizontal and vertical spectrum of the SMT/THT line processes including the Screen Printer, Pick and Place, Reflow Oven, Wave Solder, Selective Solder, Cleaning, Inspection, materials, procedures and all support activities including: setup and maintenance of the machines, programming, ordering solder paste screens,
tooling and training of production operators and establishment of requirements for materials.

Review documentation, materials and designs for Manufacturability. Interface with managers and supervisors as required.

Provide pre- and post-manufacturing reviews (DFM reports) and finalize process issues as required.
Responsible for leading the development, deployment and improvement of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) , Through Hole Technology (THT) related processes including all materials, equipment and procedures necessary to build and ship those products
to customers in full compliance of all requirements.

The broader scope includes the identification and improvement of product quality, process capability, throughput and product reliability.

Participate in Philips Lean Manufacturing implementation and daily continuous improvement.
