SMT Technician

Immediate position openings available in Durham, NC for SMT Technicians. Selected candidates will work in a Surface Mount Technology environment with Solder Screen Printers, Pick & Place equipment, Solder Paste Inspection, Reflow Oven and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) stations. Qualified candidates must possess knowledge of components and commonly used concepts, practices and procedures utilized in surface mount technology.

Responsibilities:

• Machine development and program optimization
• Experience running reflow oven and checking profile
• Electronic component identification
• Meet daily production Quantity & Quality requirements
• Perform inspection on part placement quality as per set quality standards per IPC-A-610
• Perform daily clean-up of workstations and equipment to optimize process performance
• Reviews records for device traceability and compliance
• Performs preventive maintenance activities on SMT and wave machines
• Repairs and troubleshoots machines to ensure continuous production
• Repairs major equipment breakdown/malfunction Requirements:
• High School Diploma; technical associate’s degree preferred
• Experience running automated SMT placement equipment
• Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of electronics manufacturing and troubleshooting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills
• Strong problem solving abilities
• A positive, ‘whatever it takes’ attitude and have demonstrated a high level of dependability
• Flexible work schedule and the ability to work overtime on short notice required
• Able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
