Job Description: |
Responsibilities Provides daily work direction and mentoring of production engineering group. Also, provides leadership in continuous process improvements and core competency development.Manages and seeks achievement of program and department budgets.New Product Introduction: Participates in strategy development and cost estimating. Works with internal and external customers in the transition of the product into the facility, producibility (design for manufacturability) analyses, process development, monitoring and refinement to meet HPU (hours per unit) objectives.Capital and Technology Planning/Implementation: Participates in industry and customer forums, development of state-of-the-art/innovative manufacturing capabilities utilizing DOEs, SPC, total preventative maintenance and six sigma tools/concepts.Suggests and implements cost savings across all products/processes.
RequirementsBA/BS Degree in EngineeringMinimum ten (10) years of aerospace & defense manufacturing experience with demonstrated experience and/or knowledge with majority of manufacturing (component prep, SMT, auto insertion, wave solder and conformal coating) processes.Minimum five (5) years of technical management experience.Thorough knowledge of SPC, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and mistake-proofing processes. Experience working in a secured environment preferred.Able to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance.Strong computer, communication and interpersonal skills required.Working knowledge of engineering (Circuitcam, Aegis, Valor, etc.) and ERP (Baan, SAP, etc.) systems.
