R&D Formulation Technician

Alpha Advanced Materials, a business unit of Alent plc and the global leader in the development, manufacturing and sales of innovative specialty materials used in a wide range of industry segments, including electronics assembly, power electronics, die attach, LED lighting, photovoltaics, semiconductor packaging, automotive and others is seeking a R & D Formulation Technician for their semiconductor packaging research facility located in Suwanee, GA. 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: 
The general purpose of this position is to conduct polymer formulation research and development focused on developing polymer materials and processes for the semiconductor packaging industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Carry out chemical/polymer mixing and blending.
Proper handling of both liquid and solid polymer resins.
Property handling and formulation of solid filters.
Carry out mechanical testing on formulations.
Document finds in lab books and appropriate databases.
Calculate results by using simple algebra.
Summarize results and findings in written report, tales, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess an Assoicate's degree in chemistry, material science or chemical engineering.  BS degree preferred.

At least one year related experience required.

Knowledge of Ion/Gas/Liquid Chromatography desirable.
