Job Description:

Direct, control and coordinate the manufacturing and test activities of 15 - 20 people in SMT circuit board assembly area. Achieve efficient and economical production, maintain the highest standards of quality and meet or exceed customer requirements. Ensure that product is built to customer specifications and delivered on time. Plan resources so that capacity is in line with business requirements to meet customer deliveries. Identify over-capacity situations ahead of time and develop an action plan to eliminate missed customer deliveries. Strive for 95% on-time delivery and 100% on-time delivery of critical shipments as identified by the customer. Assist human resources in attracting manufacturing personnel as needed. Lead effort in ensuring that manufacturing employees are developed and retained by creating a positive work environment and conducting training. Empower employees to make positive change by rigorous follow-up of ideas generated by manufacturing personnel. Work with quality organization and help team develop workable solutions to eliminate failures based on root cause analysis. Delegate the appropriate authority and responsibilities to subordinates n coordinating and expediting activities in the area of manufacturing. Coordinate the expansion of facilities, acquisition and installation of capital equipment. Keep personnel informed on matters of company communications, decisions, and policies. Assist, advise, and otherwise expedite manufacturing and related problems by utilizing staff services to resolve and implement corrective actions. Keep immediate employees and other team members informed about facts within areas of responsibility through cross communications. Motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of assigned employees, taking corrective action to deal with below-standard work as necessary. Make decisions on promotions, disciplinary actions, layoff selections, terminations, process procedures and hiring selections. Perform other assignments as required. Direct Reports: Production Team (may include PCA Operators, Electronic Assemblers, SMT Operators, Technicians, Mechanical Assemblers) Minimum Job Qualifications: High school diploma; College degree, technical school or equivalent with additional training preferred. Four (4) years of supervisory experience in related manufacturing areas. PC literate with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
