The next SMTA Silicon Valley online chapter meeting will be held on Thursday March 18th from 12 noon to 1 pm (PT). The presentation will explore Electronics Reliability for Autonomous Vehicles. Non-member fee: $30, SMTA Members: Free Title: Electronics Reliability in the Age of Autonomous Vehicles Abstract: The presentation will give an overview of Design for Reliability in Automotive Electronics. Reliability science will be discussed as a fusion of two engineering disciplines: Physics of Failure and Statistical Analysis. The presentation will also cover the transition to Lead-Free solder and also discuss the challenges presented by the pursuit of Autonomous Driving. Bio: Andre Kleyner has 30 years of engineering, research, consulting, and managerial experience specializing in reliability of electronic systems designed to operate in severe environments. He received the doctorate in Mechanical/Reliability Engineering from University of Maryland, and Master of Business Administration from Ball State University. He is Global Reliability Engineering Leader with Aptiv, a Global Tier 1 Automotive supplier specializing in driver assistance and user experience electronics and a part time lecturer at Purdue University. He is an ASQ Fellow, a CRE, CQE, and Six Sigma Black Belt. He holds several US and Foreign patents and authored over 40 professional publications including three books on the topics of reliability, statistics, warranty management, and lifecycle cost analysis. He is also the editor of the Wiley Series in Quality and Reliability Engineering, books published by John Wiley & Sons. Pre-Registration is required.
