Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. I am looking for a place that would do surface mounting for me. I have the PCB already made and I have the SMT chip. I have tried soldering it with a solder gun, but I think I burnt out the chip. Are there any places or people that could put the two togethere for me? I would of course pay to get it done. I only need two parts put together.

If there is a small place near you, they might even put one IC on a board at no cost. I've worked for a couple of contract manufacturers and both have done a couple jobs so small I can't see charging the person for. It would probably cost more in administrative costs than we could have charged. In any case let us know where you are located.

Hi, I think I'll try to do it on my own. There's a company here that does this stuff, called Car-San, but the want to charge me $100 Canadian to do one chip on one board. Min order, I guess. I think they were just trying to shoe me away. So, I bought some paste and I will try it tonight with a frying pan.

$100.00 is too much for the hobbyist who started the thread. $195.00 is a better option? And that $100.00 was no doubt CAD and the $195.00 is USD.
