how funny... we just bought a up1500, no manuals/install cd, and we need to do the same thing.

i was hoping that by removing /sigpro/user.pwl and /sigpro/permis.lst, and all references to them in sigpro.ini and sig1500.ini it'd let me in, but no luck. sigpro.ini tells me that lastuser=SPEEDLINE, but i can't find a .pwl cracker that'll work on that .pwl. must be a nonstandard type, or something...

so, i'd be interested in hearing if there is a default user/pass. i wasn't lucky enough for it to be "admin". ;) -john.

Hello If mr. Miller will go to the dos promp ( esc key ) and type in dir/w and then open the .000 file he will find the pass words. As far as the UP100 goes, god only knows. Forget finding this in the manuals. And I should add the .000 file is a sub dir under the Ultra file. Lot's of luck harry

Go in dos, go in the CONFIG dir. Edit the file ACCES.000 Yours passwords are there. You can delete the file and reboot, that will reset all passwords to factory default Operator MPM1 Maintenance MPM2 Supervisor MPM3 Calibrate MPM4 Manufacturing MPM5

In response to the post concerning the UP1500, the case is a little different. The Speedline/SMTech passwords are hardcoded into the Sigpro.exe file. Here is what you need to know: Login name: Speedline (or SMTech) Passwords are listed in order of rights. printer - good for day to day access. This will let you into the configure menu where you can define you own user accounts. Service - next level up, gets you into the service menu as well as other operating areas. farhorizon - Next level up, allows access to the debug menu. ( In newer versions of software, service and farhorizon will accomplish the same level of access. special! - (Yes, the exclamation is required) Allows full rights to all features of sigpro. This level is only used for diagnostic purposes, please only go to this level once you have become very familiar with this printer. I recommend settings unique access levels for your operators and technicians to limit accidental changing of parameters and things of that nature. Enjoy your new printer, Mike

Try this - it's for a UP3000 but might work for you...

Operator no password Supervisor mpm2 Maintenance mpm3 Manufacturing mpm4 Field Service mpm4

1. To change or view codes, esc from program and go into DOS. 2. Type cd\ULTRA\CONFIG 3. Type type access.000 (use this to view codes assigned in opt). 4. Type edit access.000 (use this to change codes and reassign in opt). 5. Type cd.. to return to C:\ULTRA prompt. 6. Type run to restart program.
