Beware of counterfeit Fuji feeders and parts out of China | 13 December, 2004

This I have heard from (2) different sources. Fuji feeders for CP series machines are now being counterfeited in China and are being sold as original. They will in all appearences look completely legit in original boxes and with Fuji bar-codes. Once installed on a machine however they will tear themselves up in a matter of minutes.

I have heard the same thing regarding spare parts.

Would probably be wise to stay away from Fuji feeders and spare parts coming out of Asia.

I've seen 2 types from China, one type was an amazing copy (Fuji supplier's factory back door possibly?) and the other was a cheap copy. The cheap copy was adequately functional, but I wouldn't want to bet on it's long term life.

I don't think that the ones I encountered were "fake", I think that they were cheap copies - ie. actually meant to work, not just to part someone with their cash - engineered to a price (just a very low one!). It does seem a bit strange to go to the effort of engineering & assembling a whole fake feeder, then putting a crap index wheel on it - for fraudulent reasons - it looks like poor QC to me on the part of whoever made it.

Saying that China does have a growing industry in fake IC's with no die in.
