Hello all, As everyone knows, for all kinds of reasons we must change the reflow oven from 8 zone to 12 zone, but how?perhaps the easiest way is to buy a new 12 zone oven...however what will you do then with the old 8 zone oven, scrape? is there anyone has the experience in changing the 8 zone reflow oven to 12 zone reflow oven? If there's a supplier dealing with such things? Please drop me a line. Thanks®ards! Bryan e-mail:bryan.she@163.com

This sounds like something the saleman of your new Vitronics oven should be happy to help you sort through.

ECD [and probably other profiler supplers] provide software for playing with [optimizing?] recipes. In it, they allow you to select from a variety of ovens. Maybe something like that would help you.

There was an interesting thread, here on SMTnet, recently, where the poster questioned why he couldn't get ovens with the same part number to produce similar results to indentical recipes. Coo, eh?

Whether could we add some heating or cooling modules to the 8 zone reflow oven and convert the 8 zone to 12 zone or more?I 've never heard of anybody successfully done this.I think, this way, we could get more cost down. What's your opinions? Thanks®ards!

I've never heard of anyone doing this. Even if it were possible I can't believe it would be cost effective. If you absolutely need a 12 zone oven your best bet is to try and be a used/refurbed one if you can't afford a new one.
