But I am not sure if you are talking about flex, rigid or rigid/flex combo . Usually for flex, most of the time we have no choice but to use die which is very expensive to re-sharpen (potential failure mode - dimension tol., special space, rev control required for the die itself ).
For MLB it could cause severe edge delamination /separation and is very hard to punch over 60 mil thick > 3 lyr with gnd /pwr plane (most of the mixed has sheilding). I guess I am just repeating what Earl has said earlier.
It would be nice to ask them for sub-ing it out for scoring as sometimes it is hard to route (SS or DS). I am pretty sure that there are a lot of scoring / routing house who could do a pretty good job and charge dirt cheap at the same time. Also depending on the capacity and need, you could ask them to buy any one of them - Accuscore for scoring or a used routing machine -
