Hi Kris!!

There used to be a company named Fancourt Industries that sold tools that would "recondition" leads...but I did a pretty throrough NET search and they didn't show up...hmmmm, must've went out of business or they got bought...

Anyways, instead of doing that yourself and having to buy the equipment to do it, have someone else do it. There's a company called Six Sigma out here in Silicon Valley that will inspect the parts, straighten any leads that need it, re-tin the parts if required, and then tape em' up for you. They can be reached at (408) 526-1350, and are on the WEB at www.solderquik.com (click the link below, it'll take ya there). The picture above is of their "Cyclops" inspection machines...it looks at the parts in trays...pretty cool!

Thanks for the input, but I'm afraid I'm only allowed a three day turn from DRAM to finished product to include those pesky test failures/repairs. I'm sure you know how that goes. In-house may be the only way for me!

By the way, I just wanted to throw in a personal observation that this forum is (dare I say) as good as NEPCON for tracking down info on what we do! As a newcomer to the forum, I'll try not to step on too many toes! Let me know if I get out of line, OK?

Try searching the web for the phrase "Lead Conditioning". For some reason "conditioning" is the term used most often as opposed to "straigntening". There are a number of machines out there, most notably those by STI.
