Universal 6421D THTCommunications Error | 8 December, 2022

First problem I had, my terminal was stuck in an infinite loop showing "RESTART UICS 2" and some text, and "ERROR DETECTED 002454 000004 026716 17774 000002..." etc. I replaced the backup batteries on the control board above the power supply module, and now my infinite loop is gone. However, the machine is not communicating anymore. I've tested cables, tried reloading exec. But nothing. Any ideas?

What programming / communication software are you using? Does the machine have the J11 Controller? When changing the batteries you most likely lost the Executive file (machine configuration file), so you need to reset the controller and reload your Executive.

I'm inclined to think if you have done this procedure before and are doing it correctly, and you have successfully used that computer and comm cable before and you have used that Exec before and have recently proven out the computer comm port and settings and rang the cable out then the Exec is corrupt / wrong or the card has failed or problem in the controller. Might as well confirm voltages while proving everything else out. I probably have known good parts in stock for your machine. Feel free to email me.
