Juki Parallel pickup not working | 29 July, 2022

Hi Guys, I have Juki PnP machine with 2 heads, and for some reason, whatever I do, I can not make the machine to use 2independent feeders for parallel picking up single component reference by both heads from 2 feeders.

Example , imagine you have a PCB with 3000 LEDs only/Panel:

In Placement data you want to create single device ("LED2835" for example) If you will install only 1feeder, this feeder will be the bottleneck, as both heads will try to use only 1 feeder. Best scenario will be if, second feeder is installed exactly in the distance from first feeder identical to head distance. Thus, both heads could pickup component immediately without moving the heads. This situation unfortunately I can not make to work. I can copy existing feeder to new position, but the program will use only 1.st feeder for both heads anyway.... The only solution I have found is to create placement records with specific component name to each feeder /Heads (say LED2835-L left feeder for left head, LED2835-R right feeder for right head) but this is basically not good solution, as they tend to be treated by system as completely different components, which is not good. Any ideas? Should this be maybe allowed somewhere in configuration file found on disk?...in menu, there is nothing like this..... Machine is JUKI KE760L, software version Flexible mounter 1.35 Thanks in advance

I'm not familiar with the machine, but isn't a KE760L an old slow "single head, single gantry" two spindle machine? Any speedup from simultaneous picking would not necessarily be that much of an improvement. Setup as you described is the way I would expect it to work, maybe your version of the software doesn't support "gang picking" of a single part number, the kind of assembly you describe is not really what this machine was designed for, or a common requirement when this machine was designed. Or maybe this machine cannot pick quite as simultaneously as modern machines as it shares a Z motor between spindles or something simailr.

Hi , I am lookingt for somebody who can confirm or definitely reject my expectations...one guy, with some experience with JUKI 740 said, the 740 model it had, and it worked fine....so he is surprised why the newer machine doesnt have it....maybedisabled in some servicing menu, or old software, etc.....and definitely the KE760L has 2heads... regards

I ran those KE750 & KE760 machines more than 5 years ago. As I recall, it can do some sort of gang pick, just not fully simultaneously. It picks with one head first then, it picks up with the 2nd head with minor delay after the 1st pick.

I would assume it can do under some conditions. If you manually go and define pick up positions for all parts, may be there is not a good distance between two parts to pick at the same time. There also might be ON/OFF menu for this option.

Since you can make it work with unique names for the component on each feeder but not when they are the same it is going to be a system limitation. Possibly a different software version might allow it but you would need to find someone that has done the same exact thing to know what version would work.

Hi Thomas, Seems your machines do what I am looking for. Slight time delay between 2picks is OK,( because the software is not made in multithread way), that is OK.....I just want to have 1x definition of the component in placement data and Component data BUT to have 2x feeders on 2 places to pick from (without heads needed significantly to move when picking)

So I would place 2feeders ideally somwhere in the middle of feeder troley (feeeder distance = heads distance)....this will allow me to speed up the placement of identical components. If you can confirm it works, I would be really really happy (I can send you some money to cover your time) if you could clone your harddrive and send it to me, so I could make it work on my machine.....There could be some hidden settings hard coded in configuration files on the disk, but I guess these days nobody can tell where exactly is what....(Maybe if you can tell where is the hardcoded settings in config file might be sufficient, but I guess you dont know that....) I highly appreciate any of your help.

Hi Evtimov, thanks. Well the "paralell pick" doesnt work at all if place the feeders exactly 104mm apart (for example feeder position 31 and 43) which is exactly the distance of the 2heads..even I put the feeders in 10 and 50 for example, it still picks all components to BOTH heads only from the first feeder, no matter I have created second feeder.....no matter I run "Optimize after", etc. Settings : I did not find any settings for this.....I tried everywhere.... Maybe the settings is hardcoded in the configuration file which is sitting on the HDD, but I could not find any informations in which file on the disk the configuration is stored .....So I have only "positive feedback from others " and my hypothesis....Until I get other copy of the software OR information where the settings are stored on HDD, I will be not able to make it work....

Yes, the 760 is single head single beam, dual spindle.
