Opinion/references about *KAIT brand for Wave Soldering machine (KTU-350) | 23 April, 2021

Hello, This is Franco Belli.

I am looking for opinion/references for the brand *KAIT. We are about to purchase the KTU-350 wave soldering machine whose specs look good enough.

I wanted to know if any of you worked with this company before and, even better, tried any of their Wave Soldering machines.

Brand name: *KAIT Country: China Machine model: KTU-350 Link to the company website: http://www.kait-smt.com Link to the specific product: https://www.kait-smt.com/products/Lead_Free_Wave_Soldering_Machine.html

Any help and commentaries about the brand or the machine or the special points that I have to take in account before purchasing will be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

We are also in the market for wave soldering system but review if they are the manufacturer. Many just resell the product. Check Jaguar who is a manufacturer. Also note the solder pot size and the cost of the solder. Did not know about your vendor but they look to be a manufacturer as well. Each must be able to supply you with schematics, wiring diagrams for servicing and spare parts. Make this a condition of your purchase.

You can also investigate:

Glichn in Beijing Etasmt.com Jaguar

The market is soft so you should be able to negotiate a good deal. Just be aware of the high cost of solder and check with each vendor if the solder pot needs to be full or not to operate. That solder alone can be $10k++ to fill. Also, is the pot access simple or not? Some models are motorized to remove the pot with ease while others will be with a hand crank. For us, we do not need the inline system but will consider it in the future.

Do note that you must protect the bottom side parts from the solder wave. You can use fixtures or kapton tape. For our builds, a selective solder system may be more practical and with a small travelling pot.

Whichever model you buy, please share your review here.
