We have DEK265 and a problem with few projects. Normally it works great, but sometimes we have an issue with Alignment out of range error.

Currently we have a project where after fiducials configuration in step mode printer shows an error :

Alignment out of range - XF: -5 , XR: 5 , Y: -6.5

We had two times this case, and I've managed to workaround this problem by changing board X stop few mm + or - . Now when I change board stop, relation between XF and XR remains the same (around 10) - so it can be for example XF: -3, XR: 7. Does anyone know what is causing it? Screen looks perfectly fine, same with the board. Anything we can do actually? I can find fiducials without any problems, so this is really strange to me.

Thank you all in advance.

You are programing something wrong or your image is not in the center of the stencil. On DEK machines you can move a lot in Y by offseting the image in the program. In X machine can move +_5mm. Now, sometimes there is a way around this as well if you create your board shorter or longer and stop it on a different place. Mostly your image should be in the middle.

Hi

Printer is DEK265GS if I remember correctly.

It is definitely not a programing problem, I have 15 different screens which I've checked and all are working fine. It is also not a problem with Y shift, as I've compensated it with CUSTOM SCREEN option, and it still doesn't help. Image is skewed on the screen, around 3 mm - also the frame seems to be 1.5 mm wider on one side. Still it looks like a values that printer should be able to compensate, but for some reason it can't. I also was trying to change board stop X, to check if this is some kind of a border problem, but it isn't - so it all points to the problem that image is skewed.

I also tried to insert the screen 180 degress - didn't help.

Have you tried to Zero the x and Y offset and removed the stencil and re-inserted?

Have you measured and input the "Distance To Image" setting correctly? If that number is off, you will get that error.

If you believe your picture is in the middle and is not skewed, than go to your basics and recheck your fiducial locations and detection. Sometimes these machines recognize something around and give you this error. Try program with isolated pads and see how that looks.
