NEED ADVICE: What do we want

* "Hi anyone have recommended pcb manufacturer?" [https://smtnet.com/Forums/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_thread&CFApp=1&Thread_ID=18483&mc=44]

* "SMT manufacturers" [https://smtnet.com/Forums/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_thread&CFApp=1&Thread_ID=21023&mc=15]

I let threads like this ride because ... who knows maybe this person really needs advice of finding a supplier, when I, as we all know, that board fabs and EMS know that I'll let the ride.

Frankly, I'm kinda done with them. Period. I figure the only board fabs and contactors that I want to know about are the ones that stand-up and support SMTnet with banner ads. Eff the rest of them!!!

If I'm ON or OFF, chime in. Your house ...

I'm not a big "adviser" on this forum, usually asking more than advising, but I do agree. It is good humor when needed.

These threads are almost always both created and spammed by the same smallish group of Chinese assemblers with only the very occasional bit of input for/from western EMS providers. the number of EMS providers with banners on the site in understandably low, I think the typical real user on here is more likely to be interested in equipment. As a user it would be interesting to me if the site could attract more of the equipment, tooling and machine servicing people to promote on this site.

Sure Dave,

with the amount of daily information going though our heads I would love to see spam filters working better. I am just debating of it is not better to be user/IP related rather than headline related. There are about 10-15 of them(some US based as well)users that post most of the adds - so I would say if they just advertise and don't contribute with help, shut them off....may be just from posting...they could still read and learn....too many possibilities, but my final is OFF
