Which kind of supplier should I choose for pcb fabrication?

Hi, if you need produce 500pcs only, I suggest you choose the professional prototype for small volume one. Such factory can meet your requirement and will always provide good service, if you choose the big factory, may be the qualitry of board is not much different, but they will not take you as a important customer, and you also can not ask for good service, because your order size is not big enough.

In my opinion the choise is obvious. You should select prototyping PCB house. If the PCB house filed is prototyping, quality will definetely be better comparing to huge PCB houses.

Claire, my suggestion is different from BentePCB & Pavel Murtishev. Although 500pcs cannot be considered as a mass production order, it's too larger to be placed as a prototype order. And I think the PCB quality & performance is very important, you cannot risk to place it as a prototype order.

My advice is that you find a PCB Fab House emphasize in handling middle volume PCB fabrication. They will process your 500pcs order with full attention. Even better, they can provide competitive quality-service-price offer compared to PCB Prototype House & Large Factory.

Hi Claire,

Is it a 4G smart phone? Generally, 4G pcb board is HDI pcb with laser drilling and small line width and

space, and not all PCB suppliers can manufacture because HDI PCB has special requirements for equiment,

and small factory can not afford them. The square is about 4 sq.m for 500pcs, and need a little longer

lead time than through-hole board with the same layer count. The prices of different suppliers may differ

a lot.

I'm a sales in pcb and assembly field for 5+ years experience. If I were you, I will ask price and

delivery time from a few suppliers first. smart phone needs reliable quality, I think making protypes to

check quality is necessary. Then to decide choosing which supplier.

I think that both pcb prototype manufacturers or factories for big amount, will have their manufacturing capacity, the focus is still depends on your gerber file. You can consult and then place an order. I have used wellpcb, which is focus on rapid pcb prototype manufacturing for small volume. I was more anxious to my project, i need my pcbs urgently and i receive my pcbs in three days, of course there will be a certain fee for urgent. But I think they still pay more attention to my order, because in such an emergency situation.
