For the capacitors that Yageo analyzed... Were they taken out at representative points in the process?? ie. were samples taken from pre-assembly, pre-ICT, post-conformal coat, post-final test? You note that the parts 'seem' to be ok up to ICT. And

Dear Upinder, While reading the posts at the SMTnet forum I noticed your post pertaining to Curing ovens for use with Conformal Coatings which require regulated relative humidity to activate the cure. My company, ETS, is the manufacturer of Nordson's

I'm not the Asymtek expert on this subject but you have to run a ROI study. When you buy a system you have to look at how much time you are spending on masking. If every job is a one board special, then you may be better off spraying on a coating. Ho

GJ: If your supplier uses a conformal coating that "must be applied to a clean surface," then you are using the wrong supplier and no amount of twiddling with your N2 levels will change this. NC fluxes are inherently "dirty" and nothing aside of cle

Hi, we have recently had some customer returns where the 44 pin j-lead ASIC devices exhibit green corrosion from the copper under the tin plating on the leads. These boards were in the field for around 4 years, with innadequate conformal coating pro
