My take ... * Just about every BGA in the world is soldered in a reflow oven * A small portion of the BGA are soldered with rework / repair stations * A very small number of BGA are soldered with hot plates, toaster ovens, selective soldering mach

| I need leads on equipment vendors for selective soldering systems. I have information about ERSA and Seho already. I want to contact Air Vac in particular, but I can't find thier phone number. Thanks for the help | Jim, Below are a couple of

It sounds to me that it's a heat transfer issue. The solder is only bonding to the lead on not the barrel correct? Does your selective solder equipment have any type of heating source? Can you "dwell" on that particular joint? On some of our products

To be successful, and to yield quality products off any selective solder systems out there on the market today, DFX rules need to be enforced and followed. Lay-out is a one-shot process where as manufacturing of the PCBA is continuous. Obviously, muc

We using nitrogen only for Selective Solder machine, you don't need it for reflow oven, to improve solderability we use Vapor Fase oven.

Using ERSA Ecoselect. I am curiuos to hear from other selective solder users as to what is the ideal lead lenght for your application on thru hole components. Shorter leads have helped us decrease solder bridges. We find ours to be from .75 mm to 1

Chris, What's the board finish? HASL? What's the frequency of solder beading, like how many joints soldered exhibit these solder beads- percentage wise. Are the boards clean- nobody is touching them with greasy fingers? We need more clues.

Samir, You said, "You can't talk to molten solder." I curse at the molten solder from time especially lead-free. I wonder if Wave Master Larry is talking to solder with any level of success. Cheers
